Our Puppy Process

We have dogs in Germany, Sweden, Malaysia, Japan, Finland, South Korea, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and in all 50 states of the USA. We would love to help add some Comfort to your home. Here's how it works.

1. Complete the Match-Maker form.

The first step is to complete our Match-Maker form. Our Puppy Placement Specialist team will follow up with you.

If you aren't ready to bring some Comfort home just yet, we strongly recommend that you make a deposit to get on our waitlist. This deposit is $1000 (effective 8/3/2020), plus a 3.5% processing fee, and non-refundable. Once you’re on the waitlist, you will receive litter announcements via email based on your puppy preferences. New litters are introduced when they are 3 weeks old (sometimes 4 weeks, depending on our photo schedule; new photos are taken every 2 weeks). Puppies can go to their forever homes or into obedience training when they are 8 weeks old. Typically, a person on the waitlist receives their puppy within 3 months. This can sometimes go faster or slower, depending on what you’re looking for and how popular your preferences are on the waitlist.

2. Receive a litter announcement.

When you receive a litter announcement, there will be a deadline in which to respond with interest. Once the deadline has passed, pick positions are assigned based on the deposit date.

If you receive a pick position on a litter, you will be given a schedule of things (photos, videos, written updates, etc.) to look forward to over the next few weeks. Pick positions are not associated with any particular puppy; it is just the order in which you will choose your puppy when the time comes. The puppy selection process begins at seven weeks.

3. Pick your puppy.

Please be prepared to pick your puppy when it is your turn. There are usually others in line who are eager to make their picks, as well. If you are unavailable or unresponsive, you will lose your pick for that litter. Please be prepared to pick your puppy up or have us deliver your puppy at 8 weeks.

4. Make final arrangements.

About a week before your puppy comes home, we make final home-going arrangements, including delivery, if needed. For your puppy's safety, we don’t allow visitors until they have been vaccinated for parvo at around 6 weeks.

5. Bring your puppy home!

We offer multiple options for delivery! We love meeting our new families, so coming to us to get your Pet is always an option.

We all love meeting the new families, so pick up is always welcomed! However, we understand life happens, so we also offer ground transport straight to your door and in cabin flight escort options to your local airport (cargo not available at this time). Pricing and transportation options are dependent upon timing, availability, and location, as well as the size of your specific Pet.

"Bear was born on July 2, 2018. We love him! I drove from Toronto to Kentucky to bring him back to the big city. We now live in a condo, and he adjusted quite well! He’s very happy, smart, funny, independent, and just the sweetest boy ever. He has brought so much joy to my family."

General Mini Golden Retriever FAQ

For more FAQ, visit our FAQ page!

  • What colors can a Comfort Retriever® be?

Most of our Comfort Retrievers® are light to medium gold, but we have a full range of Golden Retriever colors, from cream to gold to red. Occasionally, we get white spots (abstract) or parti-colors from the Poodle side.

  • Are Comfort Retrievers® low shedders?

Our Comfort Retrievers® are reduced shed compared to Standard Golden Retrievers. Shed levels are individual to the dog, so while we hope that the majority of our dogs are low shedding, there are those who are moderate to heavy shedders.

There are many factors that influence shedding as well. Some of these include season changes, weather, stress, illness, and a puppy transitioning to its adult coat. For these reasons, we can’t guarantee your dog’s shedding won’t change over time.

  • What is the expected life span of a Comfort Retriever®?

Smaller dogs by default, tend to live longer than larger dogs. Additionally, the extensive effort we put into our Health and Longevity Program also aides in lengthening their lives. This, and testimonials we have recieved, we find it reasonable to state that a well cared for Comfort Retriever® can live to be around 15 years old, with many even reporting their Comfort reaching close to 20 years of age!

  • Do you deliver?

We offer multiple options for delivery. We love meeting our new families, so coming to us to get your Pet is always an option. However, we understand life happens so we also offer ground transport to your front door and hand carry flights to your local airport. Pricing and transportation options are dependent upon timing, availability, and location, as well as the size of your specific Pet.
