Professional Training

Starting out on the Right Paw

What is better than bringing home your new Comfort Retriever® puppy?

Bringing home a puppy that has their basic training already started for you! It is exciting to have a new member of the family but getting them started on a solid foundation with training is also super important and something that we love being able to offer and help with. Our trainers are here to ensure that when you receive your new best friend, they will have already grasped many important obedience concepts. All training is done off-site in our trainer`s homes.

We offer a minimum of 3 weeks of foundational training, with more weeks available! The cost of training is $750 per week.

We always highly recommend our training programs for everyone. We especially encourage first-time dog owners to purchase training, to assist everyone in getting started off on the right paw!

Training always provides your new Comfort Retriever® with a wonderful start to their new life with you. It is important to remember that all dogs and puppies learn at their own pace. New cues and a continuation of the prior weeks’ learning take place with each added week of training to help your new Comfort Retriever® get stronger with performing them. During your Comfort Retriever® puppy’s training, you will receive updates on his or her progress every week.

This foundational program includes an introduction to the following commands:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Short stays (sit-stay, down-stay)
  • Stand
  • “Go to bed”
  • “Watch me” (an eye-contact cue)
  • Crate training introduction
  • Come
  • Heel
  • Trick (individual to the puppy)
  • Finish (swing and/or around-finish into heel position)

*Customizations may be added to these commands as well*
